KD talks in D.C. about Okla. tornadoes, recovery
WASHINGTON — Thunder forward Kevin Durant is back in his hometown in the Washington, D.C., area launching his new shoe among other things.
He also visited his high school and talked about his experience visiting the victims of the recent tornadoes.
“I wanted to do my best to help the city out,” Durant said. “I know it’s tough to bring back what was lost so quickly but I just wanted to give them a sense of hope and let them know that everything’s gonna be OK down the line. Gonna come together as a family. Made me be a proud Oklahoman, to go through that and know that once again we gotta fight to get where we wanna get to and I’m looking forward to that day.”
He said he couldn’t fathom coming out of a shelter and seeing what he saw when he visited the damaged areas.
