Fines for fireworks will be enforced
OKLAHOMA CITY– While many Oklahomans are gearing up for Independence Day, city officials in Oklahoma City want to remind residents that it is still illegal to purchase or set off fireworks inside the city limits without a permit.
It is illegal to purchase, possess, manufacture or use fireworks within city limits without a purchase.
That ban includes sparklers, snakes and bottle rockets.
Violators can be fined up to $167, not including court fees, and the fireworks will be confiscated.
Officials say the ban on fireworks has been in effect for more than 30 years.
