Man arrested for throwing fireworks at children
SAND SPRINGS, Okla. – A man is behind bars, accused of throwing fireworks at children in Sand Springs.
Police said a woman saw 26-year-old Joel McCoy light a firecracker and throw it out his car window at children playing in the yard.
The firework exploded near the children but no one was injured.
Authorities said McCoy admitted to throwing the firework.
Officers searched his car and found two M-150 firecrackers as well as a set of digital scales and a small bundle of what police said they believe was marijuana.
McCoy was arrested on unlawful discharge of fireworks and drug charges.
