Driver blamed for fatal boat wreck turns self in
EUFAULA, Okla.– A man accused of a fatal hit-and-run accident on an Oklahoma lake has turned himself in.
Officials responded to a hit-and-run accident at Lake Eufaula on July 4.
Lake patrol says a ski-boat, traveling about 30 miles per hour, hit an anchored boat and went airborne.
That ski-boat then landed on top of a pontoon boat with ten people on board.
Authorities say 55-year-old Gary McIninch was on that pontoon boat and died of his injuries.
After the accident, the boat that caused the crash took off.
However, authorities say 30-year-old Ryan Shumway turned himself in Monday evening.
Shumway was on the boat with his wife and two young children when the accident occurred.
No word on what charges he may face.
