UPDATE: Residents given ‘all clear’ on gas line break
OKLAHOMA CITY–Authorities say residents are being allowed back into their homes after a cap was put on a broken gas line.
A trackhoe accidentally cut the line near S.E. 17th St. and Byers shortly after 1 p.m. Tuesday.
When fire and ONG officials arrived on scene, they found a high-to-medium pressure gas main had been split.
At the time, houses just south of the line were evacuated.
Fortunately, crews put a cap on the line and residents were given the ‘all clear’ just before 2 p.m.
