Explosion rocks NYC’s Chinatown, 8 injured
NEW YORK – Police and emergency officials are responding to a possible gas explosion in Chinatown.
WPIX is reporting that authorities were called to a building on Pike St. in lower Manhattan after a fire erupted through the first floor of a five-story building.
We’re told part of that building collapsed and at least eight person were injured.
Three of those are believed to have suffered serious injuries.
Officials say the building appears to still be structurally sound.
An investigation is currently underway into what sparked that fire.
