Randy Travis critical after stroke during surgery
Country singer Randy Travis has taken a turn for the worse Thursday.
The singer’s publicist said the 54-year-old star suffered a stroke during surgery in a Texas hospital overnight.
Doctors were treating him for congestive heart failure from a viral illness.
Officials said that illness weakened Travis’ heart muscle which led to heart failure.
Doctors said Travis was in good health until three weeks before he was hospitalized for the upper respiratory infection.
Travis is out of surgery and still in critical condition.
