You might have heard of flipping a house for a quick profit, but flipping a pet that's not even yours?

Some people who lose a family cat or dog claim they may be the target of a new and growing trend -- pet flipping.

Pet flipping is when a thief steals or finds a family pet then sells it online for quick cash.

"This isn't like a television set or a piece of electronic equipment this is something this is probably a member of somebody's family that you just took," says Ria Brown of Lee County Animal Services.
