TULSA, Okla. – A toddler found alone, wandering the streets of north Tulsa, is back with her mother Wednesday.

A woman called police after finding the 19-month-old girl roaming the neighborhood in a nightgown and no shoes Tuesday at about 1:30 a.m.

About eight hours later the child’s mother called police, claiming she left the girl with a babysitter and didn’t know her daughter was missing until she saw her picture on TV.

Officers said the mother’s story checks out; the toddler was at the home of the babysitter’s brother when she wandered off.

Police returned to the home with DHS workers and have another child in protective custody after finding poor conditions in the house.

So far, no one has been arrested in this case.
