MIDWEST CITY, Okla.- A former Midwest City high school star returned from the disabled list on Sunday to make a big impact at Nationals Park.

Matt Kemp hit a home run and went 3-for-4 as the Los Angeles Dodgers beat Washington 9-2.

Kemp hit his fifth home run of the season in the second inning and also doubled.

Kemp scared fans after he injured his ankle sliding into home plate in the 9th inning but Dodgers manager Don Mattingly said the injury appears to be a sprain.

He added that he doesn’t think it will put Kemp back on the disabled list.
