Dentists accused of practicing without licenses plead guilty
OKLAHOMA CITY – A fake dentist and her daughter have pleaded guilty to practicing on patients without licenses.
The pair, Elizabeth Hinojosa, and her daughter, Monica Salazar Orozco, are accused of posing as dentists after hours and performing dental procedures like root canals, extracting teeth and putting braces on patients.
Hinojosa pleaded guilty to practicing without a license, second-degree forgery, medical battery and embezzlement and was sentenced to five years.
She also got 10 years probation as part of a plea agreement.
Orozco got a five-year deferred sentence after pleading guilty to practicing dentistry without a license.
