Two facing federal charges for gas ‘skimming’ fraud
DURANT, Okla.- Two men face federal charges for allegedly participating in a $400,000 wire fraud conspiracy that may have spanned the country.
Authorities say 51-year-old Kevin Konstantinov and 36-year-old Elvin Alisuretove are accused of putting skimming devices on gas pumps to steal account information from customers.
The federal charges claim the men put the devices on pumps at Wal-Mart stores from April 2012 through January of 2013.
The charges are a result of a investigation by the Durant and Muskogee Police Departments, as well as the secret service.
The charges were filed Wednesday.
