Pope Francis causes stir with comments regarding gay community
ROME – Pope Francis has ended his trip to Brazil and is now causing a stir with remarks he made about some of the most controversial issues facing the Vatican.
One of the most interesting points the new Pontiff made was on his beliefs regarding the gay community.
He did not comment on gay marriage but said the “gay lobby” may exist in the Vatican but that he never met anyone with gay written on their business card.
Pope Francis said that if someone is gay and searching for the Lord, who is he to judge, stressing people should not be marginalized.
He also said that women need to have a deeper role in the church but the theology has not been developed enough.
