Suspect rams stolen truck into police car, in custody
OKLAHOMA CITY – A man is in custody after ramming a stolen truck into a police car near S.W. 70th St. and Walker Ave. early Thursday morning.
The officer was not injured but the cruiser is heavily damaged.
Authorities said the incident started when police tried to pull over a green truck reported stolen.
The truck driver, Howard Erler, put the vehicle in reverse and rammed it into the police car.
Then Erler took off and officers later found the vehicle abandoned on the 4700 block of S. Walker near the Greystone Apartments.
They found Erler a short time later and took him into custody.
