Frugal Friday: Meet the Sooners, shoot for the stars, score free tickets
Want to take the kids on one last outing before school starts? We have free fun for everyone whether they are sports fans, music lovers or movie buffs.
Sports fans, it’s getting very close to the most wonderful time of the year, football season!
To get you in the spirit, as if you needed any help, OU is hosting its annual “Meet the Sooners Day” Saturday.
Bring the family to stadium where the magic happens starting at 7 a.m.
The football team will be there to meet you and sign autographs until noon.
Let’s get together and feel all right at the Bricktown Reggae Festival.
Friday and Saturday nights listen to the sounds of the islands under the tents at the corner of Sheridan and Oklahoma Ave.
The festival is free but the delicious Jamaican delicacies and other refreshments will cost you a few dollars.
The Paseo is shooting for the stars at their First Friday Gallery Walk Friday night and Saturday.
They are teaming up with the OKC Astronomy Club to show you something out of this world.
The astronomy club is bringing telescopes so you can trace your way through the constellations. check out the Milky Way, the planets and the moon.
It’s free, of course.
Twice the Cutz Salon is hosting its annual “Back to School Free Haircut Day” on Sunday, August 4.
From 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., boys in the Midwest City and Spencer area who are in kindergarten through the twelfth grade will be able to get their hair cut for free.
Organizers say visitors can also take advantage of the school supplies, food and games that will be available during the event.
