NORMAN, Okla. – A day after being voted #16 in the Top 25 Coaches Poll, the Oklahoma Sooners opened practice for the 2013 season bright and early Friday morning.
Coach Bob Stoops kicked off his 15th season in Norman with his team taking the OU rugby fields at 6 a.m.
Many eyes will be on OU’s quarterbacks as they scramble to replace Landry Jones.
Especially after Kendal Thompson’s foot injury in Thursday’s practice.
Blake Bell led the quarterback drills followed by Trevor Knight.
Jalen Saunders and former Heritage Hall star Sterling Shepard have high expectations after each receiver hauled in three touchdown catches last year.
Stoops said he isn’t a fan of naming a starting QB early and feels Trevor Knight can still compete with Blake Bell for the coveted starting job.
