Healthy bones are the topic on health check. Most people don’t start thinking about the health of their bones until midlife or later. By then, experts say is too late to do very much to protect against serious bone loss and resulting fractures.
Joining us in the KFOR TV studios to talk about bone health is Dr. Sowmya Krishnan, a pediatric endocrinologist with the children’s hospital. He has advice on when we should start worrying about bone health.
He says the factors that have the greatest impact on bone mass are age, gender, and genetics. Also, he says that physical activity and calcium intake are important in bone health.
