Physician charged with shooting ex-wife’s boyfriend
DUNCAN, Okla.- A local physician with a long-standing medical practice was arrested for allegedly shooting his ex-wife’s boyfriend during an argument.
Authorities say 54-year-old Oscar Morales Jr. is charged with a felony count of assault with a dangerous weapon.
He is accused of shooting 57-year-old Kelly Ray McKinnon in the driveway of his ex-wife’s house.
Officials allege Morales brought the couple’s children to his ex-wife’s home and soon got into an argument with McKinnon outside the house.
According to a court affidavit, Morales shot McKinnon in the lower part of his body.
When police arrived, they found a pistol on the pavement and Morales applying pressure to the wound.
Fortunately, McKinnon’s injuries do not appear to be life-threatening.
Morales was arrested and ordered to turn over any guns he owned during his arraignment.
If convicted, he could face up to life in prison.
