OKLAHOMA CITY -- After a night of partying, a grandmother is arrested for driving under the influence while her two-year-old grandchild is in the back seat.
Oklahoma City Police said Bianca Battle, was driving so slow she was a hazard on the road. She was pulled over near 2nd Street and MacArthur Wednesday morning. Officers said she failed a few field sobriety tests.
She told police she took three Xanax for pain. Investigators said her two-year-old granddaughter was in the back seat and was not buckled up.
This isn't her first run-in with the law; Battle served time in prison for a drug conviction. When she was taken into custody this time investigators said she had outstanding warrants.
As for why she was idling on the road, Battle had a very good reason; she didn't want to get into an accident with her granddaughter, police said.
Battle racked up new charges for driving under the influence, not having the child in a seatbelt and driving at a slow speed. She remains behind bars with a $12,000 bail.
