Chicago man charged after alleged drunken chainsaw attack

CHICAGO – An Illinois man is headed to court Friday after being accused of a drunken chainsaw attack earlier this week.
Authorities have charged 50-year-old Anthony Metcalf after he allegedly attacked his neighbor and childhood friend with a chainsaw.
According to the Chicago Tribune, the victim, 55-year-old Preston Smith, said they were drinking outside Smith’s home and the two had “a couple words” before his friend of more than 40 years came at him with a the electric lawn tool.
Smith suffered severe cuts to his hand.
