LITTLETON, Col. -- A number of severe storms caused heavy rain, damaging winds, large hail and flooding near Denver, Colorado Thursday.

The Jefferson County Sheriff's Office received reports of people in their cars surrounded by feet of water. Enough hail came down that some cars got stuck in the area.

Rain and hail pounded parts of Littleton, flooding the area with nearly four feet of water in some places and leaving behind six inches of hail in others.

Bryndon Jackson was on his way home from work. He says his car got swept away by flood waters and then buried in hail.

"I was talking to my mom's and all of a sudden my car just started getting washed away by water, flying up over the hood coming up to my windshield. It was scary," Jackson said.
