AMBER ALERT CANCELED: Missing child found, in DHS custody
CHEROKEE COUNTY, Okla. -After hours of searching for a man and his 3-year-old son, authorities say the child has been found safe and is now in DHS custody.
Officials canceled the Amber Alert shortly before 4 p.m. Wednesday.
Late Tuesday evening, authorities began searching for 24-year-old John Manning, who allegedly took his 3-year-old son, Kegan, from the boy’s mother without permission.
Police said John and a group of others tracked down the boy’s mother and got into a fight about the child’s custody.
Manning allegedly made the mother sign and videotape statements about Kegan.
So far, there has been no confirmation about Manning’s whereabouts.
