Bank robbery suspect in custody following chase, fatal wreck
MIAMI, Okla.- A suspected bank robber in Kansas is now in custody following a high-speed chase across the Oklahoma border, which killed one person.
The robbery happened Wednesday in Cherokee County, Kansas.
Police chased the suspect across the Oklahoma border into the town of Miami.
After that, the suspect crashed his car, killing one person.
Officials with the Oklahoma Highway Patrol say a trucker swerved to avoid the suspect’s wrecked car and crashed too.
The man was able to get away in the woods but police caught up with him later and arrested him.
Authorities are now investigating the robbery and the fatal accident.
The victims name has not been released.
