TUOLUMNE COUNTY, Cali. – Fire officials now say it could take weeks before the rim fire burning near Yosemite National Park in California is fully contained.

This is a time lapse video of the blaze.

It has now grown to nearly 300,000 square miles and officials said the fire is still growing.

More than 4,000 fire fighters continue to dig out containment lines and clear away dried brush and trees that are fueling the flames.

Attack teams target the fire from the air.

Fire crews said more than 4,000 homes are still in jeopardy right now.

The fire is about 27 percent contained.

Haze from the smoke has been spotted in Carson City and Reno, Nevada, more than 100 miles away.
