OKLAHOMA CITY – It’s never too early to start training for the annual Memorial Marathon.
Registration opens Labor Day, Sept. 2.
The 2014 Memorial Marathon is slated for April 27.
Marathon officials said the first 25 people to register will get a free training shirt and a final training run with the Marathon’s VIP runners the day before the actual event.
If the full 26.2 miles isn’t for you, runners can also register for the Half Marathon, the Marathon Relay, the Memorial 5K or the Kids Marathon.
Early bird registration will have the lowest price.
The closer the race date becomes, the higher the registration fee will be.
“The Run to Remember is unlike any other race. In addition to the challenge and thrill of running your race, join thousands of others as they share the emotion of honoring the memory of those lives lost and draw strength, courage and hope along the entire course,” Kari Watkins said, Executive Director of the Oklahoma City National Memorial and Museum. “This is an amazing day in our city as 25,000 runners help us celebrate life and the resilience of our city.”
The Oklahoma City National Memorial and Museum is the sole beneficiary of the Memorial Marathon.
The Memorial & Museum is a private non-profit organization and does not receive any annual operating funds from the Federal, State or local governments to sustain this national treasure.
