Driver charged with manslaughter, DUI in crash that killed 8-year-old
NORMAN, Okla. – One person is dead and five others are injured after an accident involving multiple vehicles in Norman.
Authorities said the crash in alcohol-related and one of the drivers is behind bars facing serious charges.
They said a Ford Escape was driving eastbound on Highway 9 when it crossed the center line causing the crash involving the other vehicles, a Ford Explorer and a Dodge Ram truck.
Six people were taken to the hospital; one of them was flown in and later died.
Police said the driver, 29-year-old Kimberly Wenthold, is facing first-degree manslaughter and DUI charges.
Officials say 8-year-old Cadence Gordon was killed in the accident.
