OKLAHOMA CITY - Police say they are trying to get to the bottom of a possible crime spree involving a gang of robbers who may be responsible for a pair of hold-ups on the city's northwest side.
Officers say three people were robbed by three or four men who were armed with guns.
One of the victims, who did not want to be identified, said, "I stepped in the vehicle and the next thing you know there is a gun in my face."
The crime happened Monday night, just outside an Oklahoma City club at N.W. 23rd and Robinson.
The victim said, "(He said) give me your money. Give me your wallet. Give me everything."
After handing over what she had, she says the suspects tried to force her into the car.
She said, "I thought I was going to be raped and killed."
She fell and somehow managed to break free and run to safety.
She said, "I was expecting to be shot in the back. I wasn't sure if the guns were real or loaded but it wasn't a chance I wanted to take."
While she made her getaway, police say another victim had a different exit strategy.
When the suspects came up to his car, he threw it into reverse.
However, one of the suspects jumped in with him, forcing him to pull over a couple blocks away at a McDonald's.
That's when the suspect ran off.
About an hour later, police received a call about another robbery near N.W. 29th and Paseo.
A man getting into his car was robbed by two armed suspects. Fortunately, he was not injured.
Sgt. Jennifer Wardlow, with the Oklahoma City Police Department, said, "This could very well be the same group of people involved in both of these robberies. That's something that's yet to be determined. Close proximity, close time, it's entirely possible these could be related."
As for the woman we spoke with, she says the whole incident has left her fearing for her safety.
She said, "It was a bad deal. It's really sad to me that someone would be that down on their luck that they would do that to people."
The suspects got away with several cell phones, credit cards and an unknown amount of cash.
Right now, police do not have a good description of any of the men involved in the armed robberies.
