James Bond’s submarine car up for auction, to bring in $1.5M
NEW YORK – One of the most famous cars of all time went up for sale Monday.
Used in the 1977 James Bond film “The Spy Who Loved Me,” 007’s submarine car is expected to fetch $1.5 million.
We’re told it’s still fully operational.
The Lotus Esprit was discovered in New York after a couple bought the contents of a storage unit during a blind auction back in 1989.
Imagine their surprise once they lifted off the blanket covering the iconic car.
Dubbed “Wet Nellie” on the set, the Lotus is often picked as the favorite film car of all time.
