Bartlesville man convicted of beating grandmother to death
BARTLESVILLE, Okla.- A 21-year-old man was found guilty of killing his grandmother with a baseball bat.
Brandon William Capps was convicted of first-degree murder and five other charges in the death of 81-year-old Clara Jean Hammer.
He testified that he ‘blacked out’ and couldn’t remember the details of what happened the night his grandmother was beaten to death.
He says he purchased some air cans and huffed before the murder.
The jury recommended a sentence of life in prison and a $10,000 fine for the murder conviction.
They recommended an additional three to six years behind bars for the other charges.
