Paula Deen gets big Texas welcome in first appearance since racial slur lawsuit
HOUSTON, Texas – Paula Deen got a big Texas welcome in her first public appearance since her cooking empire was shattered by a lawsuit over a racial slur.
Appearing before 1,400 fans in Houston, Deen addressed the allegations and said the past few months have been a roller coaster.
“It was an opportunity to learn,” Deen said. “I learned a lot about myself and I’ve certainly learned a lot about my business and I just want to thank y’all from bottom of my heart.”
People shelled out $140 to $400 for VIP tickets to meet Deen and her sons.
