MANNFORD, Okla.-Every day, firefighters across the country risk their lives to protect other people and their property from flames.

Many of those firefighters, like a group in Mannford, volunteer their time and go without pay for their bravery.

Last year, many firefighters worked tirelessly fighting fires that spread through the City of Mannford.

However, many of those who risk their lives answering the call are not properly protected by their safety gear.

Basin and North 48 Volunteer Fire Departments are working together to raise money to purchase gear for their 31 unpaid firefighters.

The 5k Glow Run/ Walk will be held at the Salt Creek North Recreation Camp Grounds in Mannford on September 21 at 7:30 p.m.

Registration is $35 per person and includes a t-shirt, race bib and a glow bracelet.
