EDMOND, Okla. – Local high school students across Edmond are getting a lesson on bullying from a victim of a major school shooting.
Presentations from the program “Rachel’s Challenge” will be shown at all the Edmond high schools this week.
The challenge is based on the life and writings of Rachel Scott.
Scott was the first person killed during Colorado’s Columbine High School massacre in 1999.
The idea is to replace acts of violence, bullying and negativity with acts of respect, kindness and compassion.
The presentation is being shown at Edmond North High School on Wednesday.
It will then travel to Edmond Memorial High School on Thursday and Edmond Santa Fe High School on Friday.
There will also be a community presentation at 7 p.m. on October 1 inside the Memorial High School auditorium.
