Big Tex returns to Texas State Fair after fire
DALLAS – “Big Tex” will be unveiled soon at the Texas State Fair after burning down last year.
Tex will make his debut Friday at 2 p.m.
The local landmark was destroyed in what was reported as an electrical fire but that didn’t keep Tex down for long.
Officials said the icon is back and bigger than ever, as everything is touted to be in Texas.
Last year, on Tex’s 60th anniversary, Mayor Mike Rawlings vowed the flames would not be the end of the 70-foot mascot.
