RAW VIDEO: Pantless suspect surrenders to police, has powerful advice to kids
OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla — The drenched suspect surrendered, after a car chase, manhunt, and tense afternoon in a North OKC neighborhood. One resident said, “That’s crazy. Crazy stuff.”
Authorities say it all began near Penn and Memorial.
A white Chevy pulled out of the Home Depot parking lot around noon Monday, almost striking an Oklahoma County deputy.
When the deputy tried to pull the car over, the driver took off. He eventually ditched the car near 164th and Western.
The man was able to duck into a wooded area and creek, and hide from air and ground crews for a half an hour.
Resident Bryan Goodpasture told us, “Tallgrass, creek, I used to go back there and play. It’s a good place to hide. I would definitely say so.”
A K-9 team eventually tracked the suspect to a home in the 16000 block of Crest Valley. Police say he had broken in, stripped down to his boxer briefs and popped a cold beer before surrendering.
Oklahoma County Sheriff’s Department Spokesman, Mark Myers said, “They had a good description out of the car, so he was probably trying to disguise himself. I don’t know how he thought he wouldn’t stick out running around in his underwear in a neighborhood but hey, we got him.”
It was relief to neighbors, who were caught off guard by all the commotion.
One man told NewsChannel 4, “That’s funny. That’s funny. Well, if that’s all it is, we don’t have any trouble here.”
The suspect, Brian Neena, was wanted out of Missouri and offered US this explanation for his outrageous behavior.
“Don’t do drugs kids. Do not do drugs. Oxy, meth, the worst things in the whole wide world. They make people do really dumb things. Take it from somebody who knows. I don’t do stuff like this normally. You got to be on something to do stupid “BEEP” like that.”
Deputies call it a drug fueled crime spree that ended in handcuffs and a one way trip to the Oklahoma County Jail.
We have added the RAW video of the point where the suspect was questioned by Lance West during his arrest:
