The Sooner D made two big plays early against Notre Dame, with Corey Nelson returning an interception for a touchdown, and Frank Shannon picking off a pass which led to a second OU touchdown.
A third forced turnover helped lead to a 35-21 win over the Fighting Irish last Saturday, OU’s first win over Notre Dame since 1956.
The Sooners feel they have something to prove on defense after a sub-par season last year, in which the OU defense was torched for big yardage and points in the final weeks of the season.
