Fire at strip mall has metro intersection closed
A Yukon Police officer struck and killed a pedestrian Saturday morning.
OKLAHOMA CITY — There is a fire at S.W. 59th St. and Blackwelder. Firefighters had to force entry into the building and put the fire out quickly.
Authorities have closed off the intersection while crews work the fire scene. Fire hoses are across the street on S.W. 59th St.
The crews had to cut the hinges off a back door to get the business opened up for ventilation. The fire was quickly extinguished.
Firefighters had to wait for several business owners to arrive on the scene with keys to their stores. They chose to do this instead of causing more damage by breaking all of the doors on the strip mall.
