OKC animal shelter hosts ‘Dogtober’ adoption specials
OKLAHOMA CITY – If you are looking to add a new member to your family this month, Oklahoma City Animal Welfare is offering a special deal to help get dogs and puppies into new homes.
The shelter is celebrating ‘Dogtober’ by offering dog and puppy adoptions for just $30 throughout the month of October.
On Saturday, guests will be able to fall in love with pets at a fall-themed adoption event. Several puppies and dogs will be at the McDonald’s at 8001 N.W. Expressway from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m.
Adopters will get free ID tags for anyone who attends the event, goodie bags and free Extra Value meals.
Saturday guests can visit the shelter at 2811 S.E. 29th St. from 9 a.m. to 5:45 p.m. Organizers say there will be educational booths, games, free pet ID tags, popcorn, snow cone, giveaways and a keepsake picture frame for adopters.
Finally, on Saturday, October 26, workers will be putting together a “Muttster Mash” adoption event at the shelter.
From 6 p.m. to 10 p.m., adults and children can participate in a costume contest, enjoy a Halloween story time and spooky refreshments.
