Oklahoma's football program announced on Sunday linebacker Corey Nelson suffered a torn pectoral muscle in OU's win over TCU on Saturday, and will undergo surgery on Tuesday.

According to OU's statement, the injury is likely to keep Nelson out for the rest of the season.

The senior from Dallas is a co-captain for the Sooners, and has registered 27 tackles, with a sack and an interception returned for a touchdown so far this season.

Nelson suffered the injury in the third quarter against the Horned Frogs while trying to make a tackle.

He left the game and did not return.
