Government releasing new $100 bills despite shutdown
WASHINGTON – The shutdown isn’t stopping the government from releasing new $100 bills.
It comes with a host of new security features including a blue 3D security ribbon.
The Benjamins are also engraved with new ink and a unique texture from the raised printing.
Officials said these changes will make it easier to authenticate bills and harder for counterfeiters to replicate them.
The old bills are still legal tender, you don’t need to trade them in for new ones.
