Many soon-to-be parents are searching for the perfect name for their bundle of joy.

However, that perfect name may be pretty common when your child heads to school.

Rebuen Fischer-Baum created a unique look at the most popular girl’s names over the years by using data from the Social Security Administration.

The Atlantic’s map puts the most popular names into perspective.

In 1960, the most popular name in almost every state was “Mary,” which soon changed to “Lisa” in the next few years.

Beginning in the 1970s, “Jennifer” ruled the nation as the most popular name for a decade-and-a-half.

In the late 90’s and into the 2000’s, “Emily” was a popular choice.

In recent years, “Isabella” and “Sophia” topped the list.
