OKLAHOMA CITY – Police have one person in custody who may be connected to an early morning burglary in southeast Oklahoma City.
Authorities were called to a home near S.E. 43rd St. and Shartel after a woman saw a man stealing her car from her driveway around 2:30 a.m.
When officers arrived, they saw a man, who matched the description of the suspect, driving a car near S.E. 45th St. and Stiles.
However, he didn’t make it very far.
The man crashed the car into a tree near S.E. 48th St. and Stiles and took off on foot before he could be questioned.
Officers immediately set up a perimeter and was able to track down the suspect a short time later.
Fortunately, no injuries were reported after the burglary or the search for the suspect.
No word on the suspect’s name or what charges he is now facing.
