OKLAHOMA CITY - As the regular season tips off in less than a week, Thunder fans will be able to enjoy some mouth-watering treats at the Chesapeake Energy Arena.
Andrew Murin, the executive chef with Savor Catering, says there is a new concept behind the menu, to make food fresh with no preservatives.
Murin said, "Here, I have trained chefs that prepare each of these ingredients from the raw state, put fresh herbs and fresh ingredients in the food."
Some of those treats include Stromboli sandwiches, prime rib, pit ham and even glazed doughnut bread pudding.
One of the new stands has already gained Loud City's approval, the Wing-N-It Stand.
Steven Tamborello, director of food and beverage for Savor, said, "We have a buffalo wing, a chipotle barbecue wing, garlic Parmesan and a spicy breaded wing."
Not to mention, there's also loaded fries that are hand-tossed and paired with homemade sauces.
If all the delicious food gets you thirsty, you can also try a new apple cider cocktail.
Joe Guthrie, director of operations for Levy Restaurants, said, "It comes in a souvenir mason jar, which is really fitting for Oklahoma. It makes it fun."
The purpose behind the new fresh menu is to offer variety from every angle in the arena.
Organizers say they want Thunder fans to head to the arena hungry and excited for what is going to happen on the court and at the concession stand.
Murin said, "To be a one-stop shop to where you don’t have to go and eat somewhere else before."
The new food options are geared toward creating the best overall experience for any sports fan to enjoy.
Fans will be able to try the new food items during the first home game against the Phoenix Suns on Sunday, Nov. 3.
