OKLAHOMA CITY – While facing one of the toughest teams in the NBA this season, the Oklahoma City Thunder showed that some of its youngest players can keep up with the veterans in its final preseason game.

Many Thunder fans tuned in to watch some of their favorite players take the court against the Chicago Bulls.

However, Thunder head coach Scott Brooks had a different idea in mind.

He handed the game over to the Thunder’s up-and-comers who have seen very few minutes in the past few seasons.

Kevin Durant led the team with 22 points, five assists, four rebounds and two steals.

However, he spent just 32 minutes on the court.

It was one of the Thunder’s second-year players that stole the spotlight.

Jeremy Lamb provided much-needed energy throughout the game and took charge in the fourth quarter, finishing with 22 points.

Reggie Jackson scored 14 points and six assists, while rookie Steven Adams racked up 11 points, seven rebounds and two blocks.

Throughout much of the game, the Bulls lead the Thunder but the game was never that far out of reach.

Chicago had an 11 point lead at halftime but it was erased in the third quarter as the Thunder fought their way back into the game.

In fact, the Thunder grabbed the lead with eight minutes left in the fourth quarter on a Durant fadeaway jumper.

That’s when Brooks sent Durant to the bench to put the game in the hands of the Thunder’s youngest players.

The Thunder led by six with seven minutes left in the game when the Bulls went on a 14-2 run to seal the game.

Chicago defeated Oklahoma City 104-95.

The Thunder is now preparing for its first regular season game against the Utah Jazz on Wednesday, Oct. 30.

Tipoff is scheduled for 8 p.m. in Salt Lake City.

Fans can watch the game on Fox Sports Oklahoma.
