Okies in the NFL, Week 8
Three former OSU Cowboys contributed, but in a losing cause, for the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday at Detroit.
Former OSU kicker Dan Bailey may have had his best game in the pros, kicking two field goals of 53 yards and another from 44 yards.
Dez Bryant had three catches for 72 yards and two touchdowns, one on a great leaping catch for a 5-yard score, and another from 50 yards out.
Bryant made the highlight reels for another reason, too, getting into animated sideline arguments with the Cowboys offensive coaches, quarterback Tony Romo,
tight end Jason Witten, and injured defensive end Demarcus Ware.
Joseph Randle got his second straight start for injured former Sooner DeMarco Murray at running back, and had 26 yards rushing on 14 carries and three catches for 18 yards.
The Lions came from behind to beat Dallas 31-30.
Former Sooner receiver Kenny Stills had his best day in the NFL so far.
The rookie caught three passes for the New Orleans Saints for 129 yards and two touchdowns, of 69 and 42 yards.
The Saints beat Buffalo 35-17.
Former Sooner tight end Jermaine Gresham had two catches for 14 yards and a 4-yard touchdown to help Cincinnati whip the New York Jets 49-9.
A pair of former OSU stars faced off as San Francisco played Jacksonville in London.
Former OSU running back Kendall Hunter had 84 yards rushing on nine carries for the 49ers, while former Cowboy receiver Justin Blackmon caught four passes for 31 yards
for the Jaguars.
San Francisco beat Jacksonville 42-10.
Former Heritage Hall star Wes Welker caught a six-yard touchdown pass and had six catches for 81 yards as Denver beat Washington 45-21.
Former OSU quarterback Brandon Weeden did not play in Cleveland’s 23-17 loss at Kansas City.
Former OU running back Adrian Peterson scored on eight-yard touchdown run for the Minnesota Vikings, rushing for 60 yards on 13 carries and catching three passes for 23 yards.
The Vikings lost to Green Bay, 44-31.
