UPDATE: Two escaped inmates still on run, two others found
CHICKASHA, Okla. – Days after escaping jail, two of the escaped inmates are still on the run; 24-year-old Anthony Mendonca and 32-year-old Triston Cheadle.
Prime Brown and Dylan Three Irons are back at the Caddo County jail where they first escaped but not without a fight.
“The police force had the two suspects in view, made contact, there was a brief chase on foot,” Police Chief Eddie Adamson said. ”They were taken into custody without incident.”
Investigators spotted the men around noon today walking on a Chickasha road before heading to the Frisco Stop reportedly to buy Ramen noodles.
“It could have gone really wrong, you know,” store clerk Linda Harley said. “They could have tried to rob us for money if they got out of jail and had no money but they acted normal. They didn’t act like they were doing anything wrong.”
The men are held on charges ranging from drugs, burglary, escaping law enforcement and carrying a concealed weapon.
Anadarko authorities received a phone call at 2:40 a.m. Sunday from a witness who saw the men walking in orange prison uniforms.
Officials performed a headcount at the jail and found the four men missing in what seems to be an elaborate escape.
“They got into the maintenance hatch above one of the cells, worked their way in around the air conditioning units and the plumbing and knocked down a couple of rebar concrete walls and came out at one of our side rooms where there are compression units and everything,” Caddo County Sheriff Gene Cain said. “At that time they just had to open the door and go out. They was outside the jail.”
The two men still at large are Anthony Mendonca, 24, and Triston Cheadle, 32, and are to be considered armed and dangerous, according to authorities.
Police say if you see either of the men on the loose, you should call local authorities immediately.
