Hoagie hit man sabotages sub shop, workers pay the price
EDMOND, Okla – Less than two hours after being fired, a former manager returned to the Edmond Planet Sub with revenge on his mind.
Jenny Monroe, with Edmond Police Department, said, “He was fired and frustrated and wanted to destroy all the bread that was made.”
The disgruntled worker removed four trays of fresh baked bread, carrying 96 loaves, and tossed them into the dumpster.
Before leaving, he tried to make amends for sabotaging the sub shop.
The hoagie hit man rang up $20 on his credit card to cover the damages.
Monroe said, “He knew how much the ingredients cost. Then he went to his time card and subtracted two hours off his time card because that’s how long it took him to make the bread.”
She added, “In his mind he justified everything.”
The restaurant general manager told us the dough mixing machine at the Oklahoma City store wasn’t working, so all the bread was being made at the Edmond location.
The ex-employee was apparently trying to prevent them from selling any sandwiches for a few days.
It didn’t work.
The Planet Sub team were the real “heroes,” working late that night to replace all the bread that had been ruined.
