Earlier this month when we found "the lost "Blake Shelton" tapes" we noticed quite a bit of video of a mystery man.
It was one of Blake's friends who went by the name "Buck” but that was not his real name.
NewsChannel 4 set out to find him. We wanted to know if their friendship had survived Blake's incredible success.
Within a day of the story airing I had found "Buck."
He's moved out of Oklahoma, but he was kind enough to send me pictures that tell the story of what happened to he and his friend after those lost tapes were shot 12 years ago.
Blake and his wife Miranda Lambert remain close friends with “Buck” and his wife Michelle. In fact, they served as best men in each other's weddings.
Blake and Buck still sing together just like they did in high school.
In fact, Buck says Blake asked him to come to work for him.
So he did. Buck worked as his merchandise manager during those road trips when Blake's star power continued to grow.
Buck still joins Blake on the tour bus five or six times a year.
Buck now has three children and is the Director of Finance for a cellular company.
Buck called me over the weekend and says what he treasures most about the road trips is the time he and Blake get to spend together on days when no concert was scheduled.
Buck says they now have less of an opportunity to go to public places.
But a heck of a lot more opportunities to do things they could never have done before.
