Virginia senator stabbed repeatedly, son killed at family home
RICHMOND, Va. (CNN) – A Virginia state senator is recovering after being stabbed repeatedly and his 24-year-old son was found dead.
Authorities say they rushed to the home of Sen. Creigh Deeds after receiving a 911 call Tuesday morning.
Officers found Austin “Gus” Deeds dead with a gunshot wound.
According to CNN, officials with the Virginia State Police did not talk about a motive for the crime but added that they were not looking for any suspects.
Experts say Austin Deeds suffered an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.
