Winter is coming; Arctic blast on way to Sooner State with ice, sleet, snow possible

Arctic air is headed towards the Sooner state.

Mild weather expected today and tomorrow before an arctic front comes blasting into the state tomorrow evening.

A few waves of showers and storms are possible Thursday morning and through the afternoon.

A cold rain is likely Thursday night into Friday morning over the metro.

A winter mix (ice/sleet/snow) will also be possible during this time over parts of western and northern Oklahoma.

Some lingering light precipitation (some frozen) will linger into Friday afternoon and evening.

Another storm will track over the state sometime late Sunday into Monday.

Could bring another round of winter precip.

It should stay cold through the weekend and into next week.

We will know a lot more about this storm system as we get closer to Thursday.
