Turkey day is the day with the highest amount of cooking fires, according to the National Fire Protection Association.

The oil used to deep-fry the turkey can splash or spill causing personal injury or structure damage.

Duck Dynasty stars are sharing their tips when it comes deep-frying your Thanksgiving meal.

Before cooking, make sure your turkey is properly thawed.

Shut off the fuel sources when adding the turkey to the hot oil to prevent flare-ups.

Never leave a hot turkey fryer unattended and keep a fire extinguisher handy.

Never use water or ice on the oil.
